As you can tell, we don't often get the chance to update this site. The Paltalk room has been going for 1,400 nights now, according to our counters, but we've all been busy lately and it's only getting busier with what we do, but have valued our time together to chill out after working commitments
This post doesn't come under easy circumstances, as it would be usually Birfs who would write something on here that is witty or comical while giving an update on what we've been doing in the room
Unfortunately, we've learned recently that Birfs was in bad health and was in hospital in mid October, but she knew she had to get her affairs in order in case "the worst" happened
It was not long after she got back home from that hospital stay with pneumonia that she started doing the task when she had a heart failure and passed away in her home with her neighbour present
For now, the room members are shocked and saddened by this event, as you could imagine, Birfs was a major part of our team and would sometimes be the life of the party
Thankfully, we have a catalogue of conversations that we can look back on, and from time to time we'll bring some of the best of Birfs over time
Does the room continue into the new year? As I write this, it's already November and usually we'd open the room right up until Christmas Eve. A decision on what happens after that date is yet to be determined
In the meantime, we offer our condolences to the family and other friends of Birfs, and we know she was well liked in a few countries with this thing called the internet, who would have thought such a wide audience could be affected by one person who is in another country?
At the time that I write this, I've noted that she was with us for 4,158 nights, which dates back to the time Vic FM was happening, I think that's around 15 years ago. Her last appearance with us was on Monday 15th of October before she gave us notice of being in hospital
Personally, when I saw her posting stuff on Facebook and liking some of my content, that's when I questioned what was happening and if she would be back. Little did I know that conversation on Friday the 26th of October would be the last we'd have, but at the same time I'm thankful for the information that I learnt and later shared with the other members of our team
In closing, while it's hard to believe that she won't be in the room anymore, or posting updates on this very site, I think a lot of people would be thankful that they came across such a lovely lady who probably didn't think she needed to grow up
This "Best Of Birfs" moment was on Thursday the 6th of September
